IKEA

I have been to IKEA in Japan more than twice. Some people go there only to eat the meatballs but I went there mainly to look for furniture to fill my apartment.....it's freaking far from my house and I won't go there unless I need something.
I also have been to IKEA in Singapore...like twice. With my family and friends. Went there just to look around and eat.

Apparently, IKEA recently opened its first branch in Indonesia.
So I went there because I always like IKEA stuff.
Of course, same with other IKEAs I've been to, it's far from my house. LOL.

But damn the IKEA at Alam Sutera was so big!
It felt like it was bigger than the one in Funabashi.....but I'm not sure.
The restaurant space was definitely bigger though.

It was also crowded and noisy as hell with children running here and there.
Not surprising, cos there are way too many children in Indonesia..........

Only in Indonesia, the displays also had their own "models"........."living models" to be precise....LOL
I could hardly see a display without people sitting on the chair or bed for quite a long time, waiting for their partner/family to finish looking around, making themselves comfortable as if it's their own room.
How cool is that.
The displays felt more alive and realistic with real people doing activities in it.

In Japan or Singapore there's no living models around! LOL.

Also, if you've been to IKEA in Funabashi before (or in Singapore too? idk I forgot), there are pencils provided to fill in your list of stuff to buy.
There was none in IKEA Alam Sutera.
It is either they don't provide pencils.....or the customers took all of them home so there was no stock left (Indonesian mentality....free stuff = take as many as possible LOL)

Anyway, anyway....
The stuff were pretty much the same with IKEA anywhere. Some were adapted to the tropical climate of the country.

Let's talk about the restaurant.

One comment straight,
I don't like the meatballs there.

I don't know why but the meatballs I ate in Funabashi tasted better.
Is it because they don't include pork in the Indonesian IKEA???
Maybe...
because everything without pork is not delicious
But also they don't have that jam! So it definitely lacked something.
And I hate how I can't order less than 10 pieces....it's too many for me to eat alone......especially when it didn't even taste that good!

Also, why didn't they give me the Swedish flag.... *unimportant but important*

The other food was fine.

IKEA Funabashi's food in comparison:

5 pieces of meatballs is just the right amount for me.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of any kind of meatballs.
IKEA meatballs are fine, but I can't eat too many of them even if it tastes good. Meat makes me feel full so fast......
I don't like bakso also and can never eat too many of them by the way.

Cinema

Cinemas in Indonesia are so much cheaper and better than cinemas in Japan.

With price even CHEAPER than Toho's Ladies Day ticket (which is like, the cheapest you can get in cinemas there), I can watch the latest movies and enjoy all these services.........

Chinese New Year and food food food

I know it's late but happy new year. 新年快乐.
This year I got to celebrate it in Indonesia with my family, but without my sister.
Besides gathering with my dad's side of the family, I usually gather with my mom's big family but this time there's no gathering because they're afraid the flood would come again.
So I only got ang pao from my dad's side of the family this year...haha.

As usual we ate together at a Chinese restaurant on new year's eve.

On new year's day, I went out with my family after eating lunch together at my cousin's house as there was no gathering with my mom's side of the family.
Unimportant food photos:

By the way. I actually cut my hair. Yeah.
Looking more azn than ever.....
I decided to have my bangs back. Of course. Having no bangs made me feel naked........

I can actually look super Korean. What kind of magic is this?

Or just...non-Korean.......

It's all the glasses' fault..........

Yes I'm still using my iPhone 4s and its horrible front camera.
But I can't access the internet from that phone without wifi here. Saya fakir wifi.........

Another flight, another movie.

Spring holiday has started.
And I decided to fly to Indonesia.

I spent the whole 7.5 hours of flight watching 半沢直樹 (Hanzawa Naoki).
That drama kept me awake....
I've never seen the drama so I decided to watch it.
It's a pretty serious financial drama, with tons of technical terms I'd never heard, and without subtitle.
but nevertheless, it was fun to watch.
So much drama (that probably won't happen irl) inside a bank,...
but I learnt a lot about bank, how the financial institution works, and lots of new financial terms in Japanese from this drama!

I didn't finish watching it. There were 10 episodes and each episode was 1 hour.....sadly I had to leave the plane without watching it until the end.
I stopped watching in the beginning of episode 6, the start of 伊勢島ホテル case. I don't want any cliffhanger so I stopped watching it and watched an episode of 花咲舞が黙っていない (a drama I've seen on TV last year, didn't follow it though).
Similar drama about a bank, revolving around annoying 上司 bullying their 部下 and the main character standing up for justice, but that one has more humor I think....

Btw, that guy from 国税局 has an interesting character LOL

My favorite scene:

「今度失敗したら、潰すわよ。」wwwwwww

000059.gif

I feel bad for that tax worker.........

I've grown tired of hearing the infamous quote from Hanzawa: 「やられたらやり返す。倍返しだ!」 so I post that picture instead.
I hadn't watched Hanzawa Naoki before so I had never associated the main actor with Hanzawa Naoki.
I had always known him as "that Softbank guy" cos he appears a lot on Softbank ads on TV.
He has a unique face which I'm not really fond of LOL
